I've been hit - what do I do?When you find that you have been subject of a fraud or attempted fraud, you must do something - but what and whom do I involve. These are questions often asked by people in this situation and the answer (unhelpfully) is usually 'it depends'. There are generally two situations that you find yourself in that need consideration, that of the fraud happening against: · you as a private individual; · against a corporate body where you are employed and have some responsibility. Each will have different drivers and requirements and these will be based on your feelings as an individual and the corporate drivers, policies and procedures in the second case.
